Celebrating opening in Bree Street

To celebrate the opening of our brand new häzz shop in Bree Street, Cape Town we hosted a First Thursday event on Thursday 1 June at the new shop.

We gathered some of our häzz ambassadors like Mia Mocke and Mari Rabie to join and shared our Saltare bubbles with the locals that made full use of another awesome evening in the Mother City.

It was a great evening and I had a lot of fun with fellow häzz heroes. We started proceedings with some häzz coffee, but soon started making toasts with Saltare to a new chapter for häzz.

I am so proud to be associated with häzz coffee, because not only do I believe in what the brand stands for, but I also love my Coffee for Heroes. It is so easy to be an ambassador for häzz! I wish the staff of the new shop the very best and hope that you soon will be as busy as the shops in Stellenbosch in Newlands. Suddenly having to go to the city is not that bad anymore, I might even have to find some reasons to visit Bree Street!

häzz hero Tim and his coffee

He takes adventure to the next level and he does the same with the way he drinks coffee. We recently caught up with our busy häzz ambassador Timothy Hay, enduro motorbike rider and lover of good coffee.

Tim is also the Director and Producer of the show Journey to the Roof that captures his epic adventures that will take him to the mountains of Lesotho where he will try to finish one of the hardest euro races of all time, The Roof Of Africa.

Tim’s training programme is not an average one, meaning he does take his coffee a bit different than the rest of us! “I make my coffee in the morning with a tablespoon of macadamia nut butter, butter (or coconut oil) and honey. It is a good source of energy that is sustained throughout the day till the afternoon. The natural fats from the butter and macadamia nut butter keeps me going all day. The coffee gives me the boost I need to get going.”

Tim joined the häzz family late last year. “häzz coffee is my energy boost in the morning and afternoon…having to train six times a week it is essential to my daily routine! In this sport you’re always on your toes and häzz keeps us alert. So the brand relates to me in the sense that it goes hand in hand with extreme sports where you need to be alert and full of energy. With enduro riding you have to be 100% awake 110% of the time. I also love waking up to the smell of fresh coffee and with häzz you can even smell the quality!”

The Roof of Africa is 30 November to 3 December.
